Squirrel Roof Damage Repaired With Rodent Exclusion

Most people don't think about squirrels when they think about roof damage. But these little guys are relentless - they chew through roofing material, shred underlayment, and create entry points that water and more critters are happy to use. By the time you notice something's wrong inside, the damage outside has usually been building up for a while.

Here's what we were working with on this one - deteriorated decking, shredded underlayment, debris packed into the roof surface, and clear evidence that critters had been using this section of the roof as their personal workspace. The tile roof had shielded some of the structure, but underneath, the damage was significant.

We handled the roof repairs to get everything structurally sound and weathertight again. But repairs alone don't solve the problem if there's nothing stopping them from coming back. That's why we also did rodent exclusion work - sealing up the entry points so this doesn't turn into a repeat situation six months down the road.

Roof maintenance is one of those things that's easy to put off, especially when the damage isn't obvious from the ground. But when animals are involved, the longer it sits, the worse it gets. Catching it early - or at least before it reaches the interior - makes a real difference in what the repair ends up looking like.
